Der Wissenschaftsphilosoph Prof. Dr. Michael Esfeld, Mitglied der Leopoldina, also der Deutschen Wissenschaftsakademie, erläutert in einem Interview mit Dirk Pohlmann, warum er die positive Stellungnahme der Leopoldina zur Coronapolitik der Bundesregierung sehr kritisch bewertet.
Gemäss Prof. Esfeld sind Entscheidungen zur Coronapolitik weder wissenschaftlich und alternativlos. Sie können und dürfen es gar nicht sein.
Er hält sie für eine Grenzüberschreitung, die der Aufgabe der Leopoldina nicht gerecht wird, auf falschen Grundannahmen beruht und letztlich ihren Ruf beschädigen wird.
Prof. Dr. Esfeld gibt keine politische Stellungnahme ab, sondern eine fachliche Erklärung, die eine politische Wirksamkeit haben kann. Und sollte.
